|
A winner of Kingfisher Indian Oaks,
Gr.1 and on the board in both the Wills Indian Turf Invitation Cup,
Gr.1 and the McDowell Indian Derby,
Gr.1, she is well-performed indeed. A big, well-made, strong mare, she promises to come good. Her 3yr old filly Golden Circle (Steinbeck) was on all board in all her starts.
She has a 2yr old colt by China Visit in Singapore with Michael Clements
|
|
|
A winner in France herself, she came to Usha Stud after having produced
Raoultze who won 13 races and placed 2nd in La Coupe de Marseille, L. In India she is the dam of three Classic winning full-sisters --
WANDERING STAR
(Tata Cellular Deccan Derby,
Gr.1 and herself the dam of Champion Stayer
STAR OF
WINDSOR), FOND FANTASY and ACCRUAL (Deccan Bookmakers' Association Hyderabad Fillies' Trial Stakes).
|
|
| |
FOND FANTASY
(b 2000 Razeen[USA] - Excentrique[USA] by Seattle Slew)
|
|
|
FOND FANTASY was beaten only twice in her ten starts; once in the Kingfisher Derby Bangalore,
Gr.1 by her paddock-mate
GLORIOUS COLOURS and then in the Bangalore Derby where she broke down and the race was won by her full-sister's son
STAR OF WINDSOR
! Before her mishap, she had won five black-type races in a row and earlier taken the Fillies' Trial Stakes,
Gr.1, in her stride.
A worthy successor to her dam.
Her first foal, a colt born in January earlier this year is by
China Visit.
|
|
|
Aviation tycoon Freddie Laker's mare
CLOCKED[GB] -- third dam of
GLORIOUS COLOURS -- was one Usha Stud's early imports and has today reached the status of being a foundation mare of substance. She herself produced the Indian Triple Crown and Indian Turf Invitation Cup winner
ALMANAC as well as
BEAT THE CLOCK and
TICK TOCK. Her descendants have won 20 Classics in India.
Her first foal , a colt by
China Visit
is a smashing one and she rightly got back infoal to the same stallion

PRICELESS
(b 1999 Placerville[USA] - Queen To Conquer by Riyahi[IRE])
|
|
|
A winner of 9 races and over Rs. 1 crore (ten million) in stakes,
PRICELESS is one of the few Indian mares, bred elsewhere, bought by Usha Stud. The reasons are obvious. Firstly her performance which includes victories in Poonawalla Breeders' Multi-Million,
Gr.1, Fillies' Trial Stakes,
Gr.1, Bangalore 1000 Guineas,
Gr.2, etc. Then, she herself is three-parts sister to
PRICELESS ASSET (Kingfisher Fillies' Trial Stakes,
Gr.1). Her dam is a full-sister to the Classic Indian Turf Invitation Cup,
Gr.1 winner
SUPER BRAVE and
SHINJUKU and half-sister to
ARKA.
And finally, her pedigree has elements which we feel should suit our star stallion
RAZEEN [USA] and what's more, she belongs to the celebrated DALMARY branch of the
SIMON'S SHOES family which we now have on our roster.
|
|
|
All the four wins of
PSYCHIC FLAME in a short racing career were Classics, the first of which she won as a maiden ! With the McDowell Indian Derby,
Gr.1, the Calcutta Derby,
Gr.1 and a third place in the Indian Turf Invitation Cup,
Gr.1 to her credit, her performance was impeccable.
The multiple classic winner's first foal is a filly by our Mr. Prospector horse
Steinbeck and she is now infoal to
China Visit.
|
|
|
Six of her seven foals to race have earned the black-type including the multiple Classic winner
CROWN TREASURE,
NATIONALISTIC,
Amaretto Bay,
King of Hearts and
Andreyan. In 2006, her son
Amazing Power (Razeen) won the Maj. P.K Mehra Memorial Super Mile
Gr.1.

ZAYA [USA]
(b/br 1988 Riverman - Percipient by Topsider)
|
|
|
A daughter of Riverman is always a welcome addition to any farm's broodmare band. ZAYA[USA], a winner in France, had 2 winners from three foals abroad before she came to India in foal to Selkirk. That foal was
STARSKY who won the McDowell Indian Derby,
Gr.1 in record time. Her two subsequent foals,
Star Strider and
Formidable Force, have both been in the frame in the Indian St. Leger,
Gr.1.
